  • A note from Mardi...

To My Glastonberry Family, Words cannot express to you how grateful and appreciative I am for all you have done. The meals, your kind words and prayers, your generosity and loyalty have touched us in ways you may never know. I am deeply saddened by our tragedy but, believe God has a plan for me and I intend to fulfill it. We will rebuild and once again we will have a loving and joyful home (open to everyone), where we will celebrate a Happy life lived and Rejoice at Johns peace with the world. I intend to perfect Johns Rib Recipe, so all will not be lost! Please know this road would be harder and longer if I wasn't coming back to my neighbors, friends and family, who love me. God Bless you all & I'll see you soon. Love, Mardi Baumann Katie, Meghan, Allison, Eddie & Johnny, too!

    Welcome to our new neighbors!

    Glastonberry Neighbors - Insurance Tip

Consider raising your deductible on your homeowner's insurance to at least $2500, if possible. Your premiums will drop, often considerably, and it will make you think twice before filing a small claim. Remember, filing even a single small claim can cause your premium to go up and may prompt your carrier to drop you. Homeowners Insurance should be a safety net for a catastrophic loss, only. Accordingly, it is best to keep a reserve account equal to your deductible to cover the cost of relatively minor damages to your home in lieu of filing a claim. Note: Some mortgage companies do not want you to raise you deductible above $1000; however, many companies have no limitations at all. It's a good idea to shop insurance annually, but in no case should you go three years without checking rates again. Insurance companies offer new "products" annually that often provide the same levels of coverage at substantially lower rates. If price is important to you, don't accept 15% or more annual premium hikes in lieu of shopping rates with other companies. Finally, when obtaining a quote, ask for all available discounts to make sure you take advantage of the programs that reduce your premium for having smoke detectors, being close to a fire hydrant, have a security system, and having a pet free home, etc.
